The FE Technologies Smart Library™ mobile retrospective encoder enables conversion of books to RFID in-house without the need to remove books or interrupt regular library services.

It features a trolley with a gel-based battery (developed in conjunction with the CSIRO) that is classified as non-dangerous goods, along with touch screen interface, barcode scanner, and an RFID printer/encoder.

The operator scans the book, and the RFID tag is issued ready to apply.

The process takes ten seconds per book.
