Small suppliers used to pose problems...
Corporations and large organizations have long recognized the advantages of receiving and processing business transactions electronically – it saves vast amounts of time and money.
But the investment required for IT systems and software to facilitate this are really only viable for use with regular major suppliers – yet just about any large organization relies on critical products and services supplied by smaller suppliers. Dealing with a diversity of documentation and data from what is often hundreds of smaller business associates over a period of time necessitates costly and complicated data entry and other handling procedures that tie up in-house staff, or involve multiple transfers from one office to another, or both.
...until Data Exchange
Data Exchange has changed all that, and makes easy electronic data interchange between a corporation or large organization and any number of smaller suppliers a simple and streamlined process. Offering an EDI solution to include small non-EDI compliant suppliers, it gets the correct information into the computer systems of a large organization by by-passing manual data entry, including the requirement to scan documents.
A totally software independent solution, Data Exchange involves advanced print driver technology developed by Forms Express R&D staff.
How does it work?
In simple terms, it works like this:
- The smaller supplier sends their relevant information for electronic delivery directly to their printer
- The information is sent to Express Promotions’ private and secure collection point
- It is then converted by Express Promotions to a format compatible with the corporation’s system, and electronically sent on, meaning it can then be integrated into the corporation’s regular processing system and electronically handled in the same way as those for major, regular suppliers
Data streams can also be picked up indirectly using emailed PDF files or computer-generated faxes.
Investment in such a system by a corporation or large organization makes the considerably more expensive option of manual data handling redundant, and facilitates infinitely greater efficiencies in the allocation and use of resources. |
